About the experience

Workplace stress management starts with noticing how a team responds when demands increase. “Under pressure” is a practical workshop for teams in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, that want to explore emotional regulation, communication and boundaries during demanding workdays. It offers space to practise responses to pressure together.

Workplace stress management for demanding workdays

Busy shifts, intense seasons and competing priorities can make it harder to listen and communicate clearly. A small misunderstanding may become more difficult to resolve when everyone is rushed. This experience invites colleagues to recognise those moments and discuss what support they need.

The workshop is relevant for customer-facing, service and tourism teams, as well as organisations facing high demand. The focus is on practical situations that participants can connect with their everyday work.

What your team will practise

Participants explore brief emotional regulation practices, guided conversations about boundaries and communication exercises. They practise recognising tension, creating a pause and expressing a need before responding automatically. They also consider how their response affects colleagues during a demanding shift.

For example, the team might discuss how to ask for help when several tasks become urgent, clarify an expectation or respond to a tense exchange. These situations provide opportunities to listen, share perspectives and identify possible next steps.

Bring the practice into everyday work

Not all pressure can be removed. However, teams can examine how they communicate about demands and how they support one another. The experience encourages reflection on manageable pauses, clearer expectations and respectful boundaries. Practices and resources are agreed upon for the team’s context.

Duration, group size and languages

The workshop usually lasts 2–3 hours and is designed for groups of up to 20 participants. For groups larger than 20, an assistant is required. Facilitation is available in Spanish and English, in person in Guanacaste and the Greater Metropolitan Area, or online.
